Scott Gibson

Owner & Veterinarian

Dr. Scott Gibson grew up in Roswell, Georgia, where he was an avid soccer player and lettered in high school. A summer foreign exchange trip to France ignited his lifelong passion for travel. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Georgia before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

During veterinary school, Dr. Gibson worked as a technician in the large animal facility and completed his senior externship at a mixed animal practice in Montana. One of his most memorable patients there was Rosie, a pet mountain lion who needed a dental procedure.

After graduation, he moved to Savannah to be near the ocean. He embraced coastal life — including many attempts to surf on a 10-foot Stewart longboard — and began working emergency shifts at the Savannah Veterinary Emergency Clinic. This experience eventually led him into full-time emergency medicine for several years.

In 2006, Dr. Gibson co-founded his first animal hospital at Lake Oconee. After successfully running the practice for over a decade, he sold it in 2018. Deeply rooted in the Lake Oconee area — especially with his wife Vonda having grown up here — he was excited to acquire a beautiful, conveniently located facility. After renovations, he is proud to offer what he believes is the highest quality veterinary care for his clients and their beloved pets.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill B.S. in Biology 1993, University of Georgia Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 1997. Member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association. Georgia State License # 5824
