Meet Our Staff
Read below to find out more about where our wonderful staff came from, their interests outside of work, and their fur babies.
Brandy was born and raised in Milledgeville where she grew up with a love for animals. She has worked as a Veterinary Technician for the last 20 years and has a huge passion for surgery. Brandy, her husband and 3 girls live on a small farm where they raise beef cattle and have several types of animals. In her spare time she enjoys showing horses and watching any sports her girls are currently playing.
Alex moved to the Greensboro area with his mom when he was 8 years old. His love for animals began at a young age as he was basically raised in the vet clinic his mom worked in. He found interest in the grooming side of things and dedicated his time to becoming very knowledgeable as a bather and grooming assistant. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors with friends, cooking and spending time with his rescue pup, Carly.
Lorena moved to Lake Oconee with her wife, Marisa in 2016. She was drawn to the beauty of the lake area and decided it would be the perfect place to call home. Her grooming career started in 2011 when she took a job bathing for a groomer in her hometown of Griffin, GA. Her eagerness to learn, creative nature and love for animals led to her becoming a groomer herself. When Lorena is not busy at work, she enjoys painting and spending time with their fur children Mia, the toy poodle, and Emma, the cat.
Mary Kay Blalock
Mary Kay graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a degree in Forestry-Wildlife Management and married her husband, Tim, the same year. She is a 20+ year Morgan County lake area resident. Mary Kay has always loved animals, especially birds, and shares her home with two African Grey parrots and a Feist. She and her husband have one, 16-yr old son. In her spare time, Mary Kay enjoys working with parrots and other birds, hunting and fishing, reading, and being with her family. Mary Kay is very excited to learn and work at The Veterinarian at Lake Oconee and get to know the lake area residents and their pets.
